In this paper, I examine the differences in health outcomes between children residing poor and non-poor households. order to identify household poverty, make use of framework multidimensional poverty as introduced by Alkire Foster (Journal Public Economics, 95(7–8), 2011). follow status (defined individuals aged 18 years or younger) over period 2012- 2017, using last three waves South African National Income Dynamics Study (NIDS). find great disparities among depending on classification being non-poor. addition, households which are chronically (i.e. observed remain time) have worse than move out pointing towards negative effects traps. Finally, rely previous work conducted Wagstaff et al. Health, 94(5), 726-736, 2004) explore some circumstances may alleviate exacerbate socio-economic child inequalities Africa. These include access labour market, maternal education, water sanitation, social norms (which prevalence female-headed decision-making power women household).
